I do not know why this just struck me yesterday - there is no more row crop tractors as such because farmers do not need to cultivate and such. There are high crop machines such as sprayers and detasslers, which are made for much taller, more mature crops but farmers do not have the need to stay in between the rows as the crops are growing like they used to. that is probably why you do not see the term "row crop" used in literature and certainly not cast into the rear axle housing like it was on the old Olivers.
