I just picked up a new Roxor. Dimention wise it is same width, same length wheelbase as my CJ7. Looks just like a 50's cj5. Has a diesel with 5sp and transferr case. Other than the grill it is the same body. There is some conflict about putting it on the road and comes under the sxs class. Mine came with windshield, top, 8000lb warn and I had it chipped. Gives it more power and takes the speed limiter off it.
Took it out for a short spin and love it. Rides better than the cj7. Better brakes and much quieter.

Check out the Roxor forum. Some have picked them up for about 14000, some 18000. The high end are 23000. Stock they are 62hp. By chipping them it takes the speed limiter off and boost hp to over 100. It is peppy and drives very smooth, no vibration. I haven't had it over 45, but anything under that you are still in 3rd gear. At 23 In 3rd you are only turning 1250 rpm. It would be lugging in 4th. I wish I had checked these out before buying the honda sxs. The Roxor is a 200,000 mi rig or more with good maintenance, no different than a pickup. No plastic, is built of steel and has the same measurements as a CJ5. As far pep, it is good. I have mine chipped and I would recommend doing that.

No locking diffs, not a lot of suspension travel or ground clearance if you want to take it off road. Depends what you use it for.

Good article. The 4600 class is very restrictive on modifications so the vehicles are mostly stock. He did beef up the axles to support the mandated 35" tires though.

It will be interesting to see how the states fit them into there existing trail systems - is it a "SxS" or a "Jeep." (for the lack of a better term). Here they are not road legal (would be GREAT it if was), so I don't know how our trail system is going to restrict them yet. Hopefully they get lumped in with SxS's (I think they should since they are not road legal) then everyone can use them on all our state trails! Cant wait to see some out on the trails around here and go for a ride!

Yes, as I understand it, they have beefed up axles plus portal gearboxes on the ends.

Roxor should sell one with the mods in place.

Someone did the numbers and said that just the portal axles were pushing $10k (retail prices).

Legally it is a side by side, so your state should treat it as such. Unfortunately in many states that means it can't be tagged for road use. If the width is allowed they can be used on public use UTV trails though.

I would guess that Jeep/Chrysler is probably lobbying at state/fed levels against them.

They don't even come close to passing State or Federal DOT standards. Why would Jeep/Fiat have to lobby against a side by side UTV?

You are right.

Because at the local level, there are many that would like to sneak them through.

The SIZE is the worst though. I don't think you could get by, driving an unlicensed jeep CJ on the back roads around here (for FARM use), so this thing won't fly either.
