Royal Crown Cola Diet

I do Weight Watchers and moderate exercise. (I tried ramping up the running this spring and caused a nasty case of plantar fascitis (which is a pain in the foot that takes months to go away.) Lost 25, and about 20 more to goal.

Have to agree with other's; lose the soda and drink water. Some are saying diet soda is worse for you than regular nowadays. Look at the label and ask yourself if you want that stuff in your body...
Lots of water is good; lots of people live in a partialy dehydrated state; I know for a long time I did not drink nearly enough liquids.

Good point. Like it states limit the caffeine drinks.

However some are missing the point. You can not leave RC out of a Royal Crown Cola Diet and still call it by that name. :)

The nice part the RC diet is working for me quite well. :licking:

99.99999% of people in the USA are going to eat at least some unhealthy food in day to day living just like many are going to operate an open cab tractoring in dusty conditions, when spraying chemicals, etc.

For me finding a diet that is sound and fun is helps. A sip of cola is and leaving the rest alone for 24 hours is resistance training for me. With teenage kids there is a lot of non diet food in my face. My face has to learn not to gobble it up.

I'm partial to the Crown Royal Black and just a splash of ginger ale over ice.
Otherwise straight up water. Best thing to hydrate.

What everyone else said. I sympathize with you, G.H. I was miserable last summer. One big ball of stress and blubber. It was ruining me. My ability to work in the heat was diminished, and my back and knees hurt all the time. Long story short, last August I called B.S. on it, and started my non-diet diet. Eating better stuff (and less of it), walking every day, unplugging a little more. Down 50 lbs or so in one year (Tomorrow!). Feel great. I am in a normal/acceptable BMI range. Cycling 4-5 days per week, and walking the other days. Still watching the food intake. As you say, don't deprive yourself. I still have a beer everynow and then, and maybe a trip to the DQ for a mini (or small) Blizzard once a month.

regular coke or cola as some call it is just empty calories. Diet is not the best with the aspertame and what all in it but its better than regular sugar for your body as far as weight. If you are hooked to it drink diet.

The sugar is empty calories. I know 4 oz is not a lot really its only like 40 calories, as long as you can stick to that amount and not have to drink a can its an easy way to cut caloires.

Im like every other souther male and drink a ton of it. MOre so now that i am in a truck more often and stop by gas stations. I gained weight, and by stopping the regular coke or mt dew i have lost a bit more than 10lbs prolly closer to 14. BUT i also exercise and had stepped up my running. But lately have slacked off cause of the heat and that i am more active after work anyhow in the summer and sweat more doing things. I also have cut out things like fries when i feel like it (seriously i do it more often than not) and dont hardly eat pasta anymore. and try and limit bread intake. I still eat sammiches but now use the thin wheat things nt really bread but like flat bread. I just dont eat random bread and toast like some do at meals.

Rmember, the sugar is not "regular", it is high fructose corn syrup. Not a simple sugar like cane sugar. I really am not so sure that corn syrup/high fructose corn syrup is any better than asparteme.

For a soda, I much more like the Coke that is coming out of Mexico, made with cane sugar. Tastes better too(doubt they have RC like that; I do like RC as far as pop goes).

There was an article in Nat Geo about sugar. They had a food scientist interviewed and said there is a difference in HFCS (high fructose corn syurp) and cane sugar, but not enough to get excited about. "soda" uses a blend of HFCS and cane sugar. HFCS is glucose and cane sugar is fructose like found in fruit, which is easier for your body to use and not store as fat. I may have those bacwards and did not read close enough to quote why but anyway those interested can find that article.
