By the time you finish paying for all of that expensive synthetic oil wouldn't it almost be as cheap to just change out tractors instead

Personally, I change my Orange Tractors out every 5 to 6 yrs. I am waiting patiently to locate my new Kubota L-5740 to replace my trusty and so very reliable L-4610.

Or that the synthetic oil you started using has a superior additive package compared to the dino oil you were previously using. Don't forget the top tier oil manufacturers are not just charging you more for a better base oil but for their additive package as well. I know quite a few people that have switched from dino to either a semi-synthetic or full-synthetic over the years and experienced the same results.

Cant really believe its the 10W VS the 5W thingy after it ran ran awhile. Start up ease..sure..I can go with that. Has to be some additive thingy ??..something like that..?? All Im positive of, is that it does happens!!

More likely it was the 40w vs 30w aspect of it.

I have over 38 years in the aviation maintenance business. Turbine engines would not be here today with out synthetic oil as that oil tends to hold up to stress and heat much better then conventional oil. That said, if you have a turbo charger on your vehicle/machine, it seems to me that a better stronger oil would tend to make that expensive turbo charger last longer. I have seen what heat does to oil of both types. As for me, I always use synthetic oil in all of my vehicles, ....except my trash hauler, ...which has 565,000 on the original engine and it DOES use oil now.
