Ok time for another update, only with pics! finally got a camera, nice weather, and some time to start on the project. Took me about 5 hours to make the flanges, by hand. They were originally gonna be done CNC mill by a friend, but was too lazy to do it. Oh well always better to do it yourself anyways. There's alot more pics to come, still need to make the gauge pod for the cab an get some pics of the gauges.
There it is as it sits right now. I know the shop is a mess, thats what happens when you have too much sh**.
here you can see the oil feed line that i plumbed up using brake line. It T's off of the oil pressure sensor port. That way if something was to happen to oil pressure or turbo, i'll know about it. This was a real pain to install, not alot of room to move a wrench. I used brake line because it blends in with the engine and is more durable.
The lil turbo I picked up brand new for $220.
just a pic of the flanges i made, with studs, not bolts. not done yet.
Heres where the turbo will be mounted, well, the round-abouts area haha.
ok, not real sure which one i want to use yet. the one on the left is off a New Holland back hoe, the one on the right is off a CAT D4 dozer. the backhoe one is 2.5in dia, the D4 is 3in dia. Im thinkin the smaller one, the curved elbow matches the curved lines of the RTV more. Opinions anyone?
Intercooler and fan, got both for $20 each. Intercooler is off an Eagle Talon, perfect size! Still more pics i need to take. Putting a Snorkle on that will feed both the intake and intercooler cool fresh air. Custom gauge pod with some neat gauges. Stay tuned for more updates as i get underway!
