RTV 500 Rattle Sound

kubota is sending out a service truck next Thursday, I will let you know what they are going to do about fixing the rattle sound.

Keep us posted on your findings...Ask him if there are any secrets to eeking some more power out of this...not speed, just power, mainly in high range...

I started this thread and because I have a Rtv 500 and it has since 0 hours an annoying metal rattle sound coming from the alternator drive. Well it's true the squeaky wheel gets the grease and that's what appears to be happening. Got a call from my Kubota dealer to bring it in that they think, and I say that again, think, they have a solution to quiet down the rattle issue. I will post what they did and the results. I failed to ask if this was a Kubota tech bulletin or a in house fix. At least they know about it and sounds like a fix is in the works......

When the service truck arrived, he was more interested in chaulking the timing chain cover, the timing belt is getting wet. (Kubota tried using a peace of foam). I had already lossened the alternator belt, which reduced the noise by 75%. He did not have any ideas on increasing the power of RTV 500, only on the 900's and 1100's.

I bought mine at the first of may and there is no rattle sound on mine. My salesman did mention the timing cover fix. They have to drill a hole in the bottom of it to let water escape if any gets in there.
I have heard of a revised driveshaft coupling on the 900/1100s that fixes their rattle. maybe related?

If you don't know what to listen for, you won't even notice it. Once you know it's there, you notice it all the time.

LOL, if i dont notice it, it's not a problem right??
I have been all ears with respect to this problem but i havent heard anythiong out of the ordinary. EXCEPT the cooling fan on the fuse box under the seat. That thing is ridiculously loud.

In regards to the fans, I agree and I wonder if they were really needed. But the noise this thread is concerning is not the cooling fans. Does your RTV500 have a rattle sound?
