Now that we have all lubed our steering wheel bushings, can we get back to someone that can identify the use for the three prong recepticle?:)

Yes...I don't have the color code with me but one is switched power, another is a ground.....the third wire I'm not sure. A quick test with a multimeter will make it easy to find the switched power and ground. If you need it I can get the color code of the wires off my buggy over the weekend.

You might want to file the squeak information info away for further use. You'll be needing it even though you're not interested right now.

Thank timswi for the reminder,

Perhaps I should have put more detail into my post:

1. I too had the squeal the 2nd day of ownership on the 500.

My repair was easy since my wheel came of easily and the seal was soft in the summer heat. After I removed the rubber seal, I coated it with olive oil. It has a non petroleum base that will not cause damage / deterioration to the rubber ring.
This also works good for the weather strip around car / truck doors. (forget Silicone Spray, Armour All etc.)

2. I figured out the wiring plug mentioned and used it to power my Strobe Lights that are described in one of my post's.

3. I to am curious as to what accessory this plug is for? Just trying to get the post back to the original intent.

Perhaps work lights?

Still diggin out,

The winch and speedometer options. That is why they say the speedometer is not compatible with the winch....they both use that connector block. The factory winch instructions have you put a wire pin into the switched power to your contactor block so you can only run the winch with the key on to prevent running the battery dead.

The 12 volts in that speedometer connector is fused at 5 amps. The instrument panel warning lights and temp gage are also fed off that fuse. Be careful that you do not draw too much power if you are going use it for other purposes. The Yellow/Red is 12 volts, black ground and the violet goes to the speed sensor.

I know this is an old thread but does anyone know what type of PLUG is needed to plug into that factory power connector? It is a different design than anything I have seen before. I would rather plug into it directly instead of hacking into the wire going to the plug.

I used a standard pin terminal to plug into mine....same as what Kubota uses to tap their winch into it. You can get them about anywhere, they are very popular for car stereos.
