Good luck at TSC...Nice thing about this is that nothing is really messed up from OEM. If you don't like it, the drill holes in the cutting edge won't bother anything.

I've plowed 11 driveways and a 700' right of way at least 6 times this winter and no issues with this set up.

It won't scrape off ice or packed snow, but that's the price you pay for minimal damage. If you get the snow early, this isn't an issue.

If you do this, I want pictures too:D

timswi, here is my short list, dash[no lights],should have turn signals[my BX does],when cold hard to get in and out of gear, hand throttle ,snow plow items as mentioned before.

Agreed on the dash lights although this isn't a problem on my 1100. The ambient light is kinda ok.

Turn signal: Fully agree, my BX has them too and 4 ways. Why not on this?

In and out of gear is certainly more difficult with the plow attached. I've figured out how to get around this. Without the plow, I have no issues.

I don't have a hand thottle, just a "fast idle" knob. Don't really use it for anything beyond warm up.

Granted, there are some things that they could improve on. Wish they'd ask the owners. They really don't.

All and all I'm happy except for the $19k I paid for it. I'm over that now though, I think.

Mine won't move ice or packed snow now. Looks great and I think I'll look into doing the same thing. I do 5 long drives 3 of which are a quarter mile long and gravel. It would help on those also. Great idea.

Coot:

Sounds like this will work for you...good luck with it and let be know how it works out.

Like I said before, be prepared to wipe out some drill bits going through the cutting edge.

Beyond that this is simple...I'm all about simple:cool:

I finally got to use my curtis plow. Wow it works great. The rtv 900 can move some snow! The only problem I have now is I can't get it out of gear when plowing...pisses me off always something. I have to shut it off everytime..sucks

I have a relief valve on my 2006 RTV 900.You can also press down on the brake pedal for a few seconds to relieve pressure and it should slide into gear easier.coobie

I had a place (michigan iron & equipment)located in Morrice Mi give my curtis snow plow a few upgrades, beefier shoes,1/2 cutting edge, and rework to whole lift/angle mounting system to full hydro.Works great now.coobie

Coobie, we need pictures as proof.:laughing::laughing:

I went all hydro as well. And will eventually put in a 3 spool to replace the existing 1 spool. 1-dump box 2-plow lift 3-left/right or rear auxiliary. :licking:

Hey does anybody know if the curtis blade I bought for my rtv900 will work with my kubota 2350 tractor? Just curious.

Xterra,
My guess is that you will have to get the welder out and build some attachment brackets. Not hard if you have a place to bolt a plate to and then fabs the mounts on it like I had my welder do.

We have a RTV1100 with a curtis plow and I am getting ready to make it all hydraulic. Coobie, Some pictures of your setup would be very helpful and anybody else that has done this. I am going to go with solenoid valves and may make it wireless.

Skinny,
here is a picture of mine on my old 9. It was mounted on the plow and used the two existing lines mounted in the grill. This was the simplest setup.

And the new setup on my 11. Solenoid valve is under the hood on the passenger side and runs to the 4 outputs in the grill. Plus made my own bumper and mount as the curtis mount is too low and too heavy. Ten inch cylinder gives me great height.

Next upgrade, install a 3 spool where our 1 spool resides and have a lever for the dump, one for the plow lift and the third for the left right or a set of QC at the rear.

Real pain switching rear QC ever time you need to check the engine.
