RTV900 Hydraulic Angle Kit

with the power angle kit does this replace the elec/hydro up down as well or just give you the benefit of not getting out of the tractor to angle the blade?

I believe it's just the angle. You'll still use the elec/hydro unit to raise and lower the blade. It would be nice if they came out with a joy stick control that would control all movement of the blade but I bet that would be two or three times the cost of just the angle kit.

and I assume this retrofits to the kubota(curtis) blade that I already have??

I picked up the hydraulic angle kit yesterday afternoon at Ahearn Kubota in Spencer, MA. They told me it was hard to get because, as usual, demand is exceeding supply. They didn't discount it so I had to pay the full $507 plus tax. I was a little upset when I got home, laid out the parts and discovered that Kubota (or Curtis) didn't pack everything that's listed. It was missing the 60"heat resistant hose sleeve that covers the two hydraulic lines from the rear coupler as it is routed by the transmission/engine. Not a big deal - just aggravating. It's only a $5.00 part. I'm having them mail it to me and will retrofit when it arrives. I plan to install the kit tomorrow - it says about two to three hours in the manual. I don't think it should take that long. There's nothing special that needs to be done - just screwing things together.

I checked the price of the individual parts on line. If you ordered it that way it would cost about $650. If you're self sufficient you might be able to just order the two hydraulic pistons (70000-1198 / $115.50 each) and fabricate the rest.

As usual, I was totally wrong about how easy this install would be - it took me all morning and part of the afternoon. I couldn't route the hydraulic lines the way Kubota instructed because the heater coolant lines didn't allow enough space. I also had a hard time getting the hydraulic cylinders connected as they just don't slide in and out freely. I had to connect hydraulic pressure to them to get the right length to bolt in.

Now that it's done, it works real nice - see attachment.

Was the plow and the frame pre drilled to accept the power angle kit. Did everything line up and fit. Were the bulkhead brackets, on the front of the RTV, for the hydraulic lines supplied in the kit.

The plow had all the proper fittings to accept the hydraulic pistons. The only holes you have drill are two 13/16 in the plastic grill - I did 3/4 and they worked fine. All the bolts, fittings, connectors, hydraulic lines are included. The only thing I had to supply was some teflon tape for the fittings.

Everything lined up very well. I had a problem getting the pistons to pull out of the cylinders - might have been stiff because they were never extracted before. I had to connect to the hydraulic power to push the rods out.

Once it's all connected the blade seems a lot tighter - the blade is rock solid.

I forgot to include that you'll also need some Super UDT to top off the system after you install the angle kit. I would say it took at least a quart, maybe two. Have you ever tried to add fluid to that tank? Not that easy because of its location to the dump bed.

Thanks for the response. On another note, what tires do you have, are they working for snow removal.

I have the stock HDWS tires that came with the Worksite. They work OK plus I also have a set of chains on the rear. In addition I plow on asphalt. I don't really need the chains unless there's a lot of snow - over a foot.
