RTV900 vs a Diesel HPX

TOTALLY agree on the belt enclosure gripe. I've said this before but it is just stupid that they wouldn't do that. For the record though I have gone through rapid flowing water that was above my floorboards without an enclosure and up a steep bank but it wasn't without a lot of slipping. Obviously it's not enough to stop me from buying JD mostly because I've had really good experience with them from a reliability stand point which is what I like most. Also it's much easier to get to our JD dealer then our kubota dealer, for some reason they didn't feel the need to have a dealer here.. I guess they figured everyone else had the market cornered here. They were probably right since kubota doesn't make tractors for working in the fields. (I think..)

I guess I'll have to buy the camo model so it won't clash with my other JD products.
I like camo. Hides the scratches really well. What confuses me is when ppl get camo then put chrome wheels on the utv~!

yea that camo with chrome rim just don't go!! or them nice 4x4 trucks with carpet interior and cloth seats lmao. man what will some people think of next.a guy seen my hpx and said man with all that stuff on there i guess you don't do any mud riding i said it's all water proof and i didn't pay for them mud tires for show.if i put it on my hpx it better be able to get wet or muddy if not it's not gonna last.right now i'm thinkin of some camo clad but i like the green color it's a toss up .with all the money i got into it i hate to sell it for a new one . but i would like a new one too.i could always just drop a bigger engine into it. i am a welder fitter by trade and i have a buddy to help out with the hard work. my engine is runnin fine but i wonder what a 40hp would do in a hpx. i was thinkin of takin the bed off and fabing up a aluminum flat bed with some 2'' high rails for tie downs.that would look bad ***** a flatbed hpx.

I saw this at the JD intro in Florida as well, and there was no monkeying around with the machines to make one win. There were dealers there that also sold both Kubota and Polaris and they tried to find fault with the tests and couldn't. They were humbled a bit.

More than one of Deere's demo's have been shown to be a load of bull. I don't doubt that its possible, but someone besides Deere is going to have to do the test for me to believe it.

Yea, notice how they totally neglect to point out that all you have to do is pull the diff lock lever on the Kubota.
The diff lock only locks the rears. That would make no difference in the test shown.

Do you have proof of this statement?

Trust me John Deere isn't going to make video evidence of false statements.

The JD on-demand 4 wheel drive system is the best 4 wheel drive system to date of any utv imho.
It works like reverse limited slip. When it senses a tire spinning it locks the others in.

I'm not saying the hpx is better than the rtv. Just that the 4 wheel drive system is superior.

I suppose when you sell Kubota's it would be advantageous to slam JD right or wrong.

Personally I like them both.

I like the Kubota tractors, I went with JD only because there isn't a Kubota dealer close to me~!

Messick if you still don't believe the new system is true four wheel drive I should take a movie of me on the ice when it freezes over again. You have all four wheels spinning with everything locked down.

Hey, hey now. You saw a picture of a couple of creatures that lurk in my barn. Are you telling me that I gotta insult one to get on the other? ;) What if I do that and the orange one decides to mash me against the wall next time I walk by?! I'll blame you if it does!!! :)

Admitably, I forgot that the RTV only locks the rear. There is an extra lever beside the bed dump that locks in the diff lock pedal and my mind was thinking it was a rear lock - I stand corrected.

As for Deere cooking the demos, they absolutly do. If you go to the dealer meetings, and you talk to the sales guys you'll find that this is pretty common knowledge. I know guys who have seen 100Hp tractors cranking out 150Hp at field demo's. The videos on their website are toned down a bit, but I've seen some of the exact same demo's done with different results (at both CNH and Kubota meetings - who admitably will push the limit too). Deere makes a fine product, but their greatest skill is in marketing themselves.

I don't mean to pick on Deere here and insuinate that their liars. My point is that you need to be able to look though the marketing spin and not buy into some of this stuff that is clearly questionable. There are other companies that are equaly as guilty.
