Oh they'll have a left handed turboencabulator for a 73 Yugo but won't have a radiator hose for a Ford pickup:cool:

Reminds me of a trip to south Texas I took. We were going deer hunting to Carizo Springs when I heard a terrible noise under the hood. I pulled over and found the belt for the water pump had busted. We had just gone by a fourway intersection with a gas station and two buildings on the other two corners...what would the odds be the gas station would have the right belt. I walked back and asked the guy if he could match the broken belt I had in my hand. He had three belts hanging on the wall and one of them was the right one. I almost fell over and if he had said a "hunerd dollars" I would have gladly paid it.

I'll bet he still has two belts hanging on the wall.

What I can't figure on parts is why everytime I need something common for my Ford Pickup they have to order it....supposed to be the number 1 selling vehicle in the world but they don't stock parts:confused: Oh they'll have a left handed turboencabulator for a 73 Yugo but won't have a radiator hose for a Ford pickup:cool:

Saturday morning I needed a spring to tension the idler pulley on my JD 240 with a 38" later model deck. It was already on order to come in on Wednesday. They had one belt for the thing, which I also needed and advised that I take that with me instead of waiting until the spring came in since it might be bought and gone by Wednesday. Apparently they keep one of things on hand and order a replacement when that one sells to keep inventory investment at a minimum.

Any chance a generic CV boot can be made to fit. I bought a CV boot for a small import vehicle for 5$ vs buying the correct tranny shifter boot for my orange tractor.. fits 100% perfect using the cvboot metal lace clips looks good.. even better than the oem boot that was 3x the price plus shipping...

Only problem is it is square, but I'm thinking something from the automotive world should work. Just need to check around a little bit. I just checked quick on Mike's link, everything was round.

Ever see what happens when you take a round cv boot lip and flatten it on 4 sides, and leaving 4 90' angle corners on it? It becomes a square! ;) might be worth the money to make the round cover fit the square peg.. er.. hole.. or whatever..

Mike, Funny. Glad to see you posting again.

As far as the boot, I'll have a rag around mine first.

If you find something please post it. I removed mine this summer. It was cracked when I bought it, and was gaping this year. I will have to see if I can find something myself.
