High mounts on a Mini? I know the pics of my Aimpoint Pro shows the riser, but I had to take it off because it was way too high even after removing the drop stock arm & re-placing it with a straight one. It might be the comb of the Tapco stock though.......

a College roommate of mine had a mini-30, and that was a fun gun.
at some point reciently I decided that I needed one, and I walked in firmly intending to buy a mini-14, really. however somehow between the door and the paperwork, somehow I had instead chosen the Ruger Gunsite Scout. (which is in itself an awesome gun)
So if I can concentrate enough to get it right next time.
Weird part was, the first time that I bought a gun at Cabelas, they did walk me to the door and handed it over there. this time they waved bye to me form the gun counter, and I had to walk the full length of the store carrying it myself. did not even get checked at the front door.

A Gusight Scout? Ooooohhhh...ahhhhh I have been drooling over over of those for a few years....please post a pic! For me, it would really make it a religious experience to buy one then attend the course(s) at Gunsight in AZ:

Yup. If I remember (always a risky proposition for me) I'll post a photo of the rig. The high mounts are needed to clear the large 50mm diameter lens.
