Ruined my PTO Shaft

I messed up and cut my PTO shaft off, too short. I have a Woods RM360 mower. Will other brands of PTO shafts work with my mower?

You could also measure your old PTO Shaft after viewing the video and ascertaining what the correct length should be, then as has been suggested check to see if an extension is available without buying a complete new shaft.

I have welded one back together for my Dad. Luckily it was a square shaft so I could clamp it into a heave angle iron jig to keep it straight while I welded it. Lots of quick welds with cooling time between welds to keep distortion to a minimum. I am not sure I would recommend doing this but it did work.

this video is what i did to mine. i think measuring from the end of the tractor shaft instead of the center of the lock like he did on the tiller is the reason for more than one measure four times and cut it short once.

just did it last night. i have decided to purchase the ASC adapter if am not happy with that i will replace them with the parts that i cut off. they are both 2" longer than what is in there now.

if your issue was just 2" that should be fine..
