running my own propane line?

I believe in Conn you need to be a licensed Plumber or LP installer to install LP gas piping. You'll needs permits pulled for both the piping and the LP Tank. The town plumbing inspector and Fire dept. will inspect the job and sign off on the permits. No gas company will fill your tank without proper permits. I'll assume you are purchasing a 100gallon tank not a 100lbr...??...Purchase a ASME tank as they do not have to be re-certified. This is how Mass does it and I'm almost positive its the same in Conn.

If its a 100 lb tank it can be inside the place where the heater is, does not need to be outside

You think he's gonna blow himself up or what?

I have no idea. I have seen it happen from DYI .

I have seen DIY plumb a house with PVC.

Was in the business for a long time. Ain't much I hadn't seen

A 100 lb tank is classified as a portable tank. I have 2 of them and take them to a refill place for filling

Even if it's allowed I still wouldn't advise it.

Maybe not, but these come with a 15 foot hose and are designed to use in a barn, garage or other such place

We have two tanks. The one at the shop the company would run X # of free for free. I helped them set and level the tank and the installer ran the line about 25' into my shop and never changed anything. The second tank I already had the main lines run (50' to the house) and buried so the installer just did the hook up and pressure tested everything for me and I paid for a few fittings at the tank and some at the generator. Very reasonable - thinking I had under $100 in everything and that also included a little run of copper from the regulator to the generator itself.

Getting blown up by a leaky propane tank isn't even at the bottom of my list of things to try.
