Rural living is great for privacy, or is it?

I was watching a short news story concerning Google. The Google executive said they have applied for permission to start offering real time video from their satellites. Now THAT my friends will put a crimp in your privacy..... :)

The last time I saw any was early 80s. Had just returned from hunting and was getting out of my old 67 Bronco wearing camo and my shoulder holster with the 357 mag I always carried. A Toyota Corolla comes bouncing down my driveway past the "No Trespassing" sign and 5 overweight JWs roll out and head towards me. About the time I cleared the front of the truck and they got a look at me 4 of them retreated to the car and the driver approached me with his book in hand. As he began to speak I interrupted him and asked if he saw the "No Trespassing" sign as he entered my property. He replied yes and started to preach as if it didn't apply to them. I had to interrupt him again to inform him I was going inside to call the Sheriff. I must have been put on the JW "Do Not Call" list as I never saw them again. I do have a gate AND a "No Trespassing" sign now.

I'd be very surprised if that happens. All of those satellite image maps use outdated photos for a reason; terrorism. Google used to have very up-to-date images, until one day they didn't. I asked them why, and was told they changed to older images at the request of Homeland Security in order to stymie terrorist plotting using current info.

I was talking on the phone and casually reading the original post out of the corner of my eye, I misread goannas for gonads. I was confused why your rash was getting your guinea fowl so upset.

I usually keep a half roll of TP on the tractor when I am back in the hills and far from home. One day I had a need to use it at a location far - really far - from everything. In the middle of doing my business I heard voices - a conversation. That was just not possible. I looked around as I finished up quickly and saw nothing. I kept hearing the voices and assumed they were coming from somewhere in the woods. Then the voices seemed to come from above. I looked up to see two hang gliders circling and talking. They were a ways up there and I don't know if they even saw me but I now always remember that every time I am back there and nature calls.
BTW our property is adjacent to a very popular hang gliding / para sailing jumping off point.

People are funny. You can go into an apartment complex and no one knows anything about their neighbors. But you go out into the country and folks know everything, absolutely everything.

Back in the day when someone moved to their five acres of heaven here in north Texas I was one of the first people they would call, fence contractor. I would get the same complaints about how nosey their new neighbors were and that they had moved to the country to get away from that. A couple of years later when I came back for the changes and additions they would update on the neighbors, new dog names etc.

People are funny, peculiar more than ha-ha.

The OP should have asked the JWs a difficult question. As they aren't allowed to use their own brain and only read an appropriate answer, the frantic fanning of the bible pages would have provided welcome cooling in that heat!

It's true. I was in a Kingdom Hall once and noticed the sudden air turbulence when they all sought various bible passages.

I always answered my door in my underware. The JWs don't come around any more.

I have no problem with JWs. To each their own. Once I tell them I'm Buddhist, we generally have very short discussions, if at all. I've had no visits from them since I moved out of the city where I grew up, back in '05. There is a Kingdom Hall about 7 miles north of us just outside of Highland, IL, but I've never had any visits at our place.

I have a driveway that is 600 feet long and that discourages a lot of people from coming up and knocking but there is always a few. Most of them want to talk about religon but I have had a few sales people. I try and be nice but it doesn't always work.

To the OP, can you redo your first post except use english this time? Just kidding, I enjoyed the different version of english and also learned a few new words.
