Hello all. Is there a spray I can apply to the underside of my brush hog to neutralize the rust and kinda just help preserve it between uses. The person that had it before me let it sit for a while and I don’t want it to spread anymore. I’ll be storing it on blocks under a covered area when it’s not in use. I know the first time I use it in the hay field it will probable knock off a lot of the rust underneath just from things scraping around.

Awesome. So am I right with I need to cut my field with it to knock a lot of the rust off, kind of like using the loader knocks the rust off. Then rinse it off and spray this stuff to help protect it?

Just dig out any wads of grass with a screw driver and use a leafblower to get it as best you can. Then just spray one of these lanolin based rust preventives straight on the clean metal.

I've found that Fluid Film makes a real good anti corrosion treatment for battery terminals as well.

I agree it does... Just make sure all your connections are made & are nice & tight as it is non-conductive...

Not an issue for me as I use serrated (star) lock washers under the hold down hardware so they 'bite' into the battery terminals. I like FF as it don't stink either.

Fluid film or wool wax will wear right off first cut. It's also expensive for a one time use storage coating.

Why not just flip the thing over, wire wheel the **** out of it and give it a proper paint job with proper paint and cure time?

There's also Krown, the automotive rust profing company, the same material they use on vehicles is available in a spray can, if there's not a location in your area, they do sell spray cans on their website.
