And thats why I no longer set foot on Commiemart's parking lot's.
This may seem a little off the wall, but I've recently had 'way more exposure to medical facilities and services than I ever wanted  -- and I'd really like somebody with a "Wal-Mart" attitude to be my agent when it comes to negotiating fees and fair prices for medical services, at least!

Can you imagine how much money the government would save if they aproached there purchases like WalMart does? Force your suppliers to give you the best price and then pass it on to your customers!!!

I've never found Rustoleum paint to be very effective in stopping rust. What does stop rust is Rustoleum's Rust Reformer. It's similar to others sold under Rust Extender, etc. names that do the same thing. These turn iron oxide to iron sulfide. THEN you can use just any old primer to paint it, or just leave it the iron sulfide black color or bright metal that won't rust.

Thats so true Eddie, Here in my town they purchased a riding mower from Home Depot for the fire dept to cut their small lawn.
People were quite upset, as there isn't much of a lawn, not to mention its a hill. But the Dept justified it as being legitimate, and well within their powers. They also added that Home Depot gave a 25 percent discount. Not Bad. But upon further investigation it was found that the 25 percent wasn't off the price that it was marked for the 'average' shopper. But Off a much higher price that they quote Business. This is common in this area. Many places wont sell to the state, because the state take up to 3 months to pay the bill.
But anyway, mark her up, and then down ...
Even at Wal mart the barn deadbolts I had been buying were on clearance for $6.47.
I prefer to pay the full price from the next nearest Wal mart. $ 4.84.
Marketing is so interesting.
Ever order from HF and get the item, and open the box and on top is an ad for the same item for , 50 percent off? Not a good feeling. Just the way it works out I guess. But still a bit of a kick in the face I think.
I once ordered a compressor, and they same day got a catalog with it for 80 dollars less. i called HF and asked if they could adjust it, they said no, but I could order another one and then return the first when it came in.
Sounded stupid to me, but I did. I got two at the PO and then refused one. So it got shipped back.Seems it would have been easier to do the paperwork' than to ship them all over.
A bit like the ice truck that traveled all over the country with ice during the Katrina disaster.I still wonder if it ever got to the south and used the ice, or just melted ...

By the way...do you know you can still purchase lead paint? I have lead primer in my paint cabinet right now. It's still used for certain marine applications (bilges for example).

That's good to know. Where/how do you get it? I still have a very small quantity of red lead left that I'm hoarding, probably until it dries up.

You reminded me of what IBM used to do. When I drove for Airborne Express in California, I had to go to the Kennedy Centery in Oakland. IBM had offices on several floors there and would ship with us all over the country. They would also ship to differnt offices in the same building. Sometimes on the same floor!!!

I don't know there exact rate, but it was probably around $8 a package. It would take me ten minutes to deliver one to two dozen envelopes every day in the same building from them. It just amazed me at how wasteful they were.

I was at Lowes over the weekend and saw all sorts of Rustoleum Paint there. It's where I always buy it because Walmart was always out of stock of green. The green Rustoleum is a perfect match to me green metal roof.

LOL Eddie.
Your right , I went to Lowes and got my paint.
There not much doubt in my mind now that Wal Mart couldn't force their pricing on them. And also what someone else said about not enough product being sold off the floor. Its all about statistics.
And of coerce no one at Wal Mart would get or give the correct answer why.
But to say that it wasn't environmentally sound, and they were going out of business, is a stretch. They could easily say I'm not sure, why, just that we aren't going to carry it.

Maybe Walmart is going to quit handling Rustoleum, and I didn't ask anyone at the store, but I just returned from our local Walmart and that store is well stocked with a wide variety of Rustoleum paints.

California and thirteen east coast states have passed regulations prohibiting the sale of solvent-based paints in containers larger than a quart. Here (DC) the Lowes and Home Depot no longer sell oil-based paint at all, the paint store sells it by the quart only.

My guess would be that the reason you can't get gallons of RustOleum at WalMart has something to do with these regulations.

quicksandfarmer,
I think your right ,today I went to walmart, and they have all their oil based paint on sale to clear it out. None at all stocked in the normal aisles.
This sounds so rediculious, that it has to be true. LOL
It makes no sense to me why Id have to buy 4 one quarts of paint rather than a one gallon jug. Of coerce it will make them money that way, and also help with the steel industry.
I'm sure this is gonna be a flop. ,its nothing more than a ploy to get people to use latex paint. And I can tell you, it foes hold up well on the car, or implements.
