You're hitting on a couple of key things for us Eddie. We do like a pool, but tend to sit by it rather than swim in it. Our favorite spots have had pools with substantial deck/patio area around it. Nothing worse than cat-napping beside the pool and getting splashed. I also like sparkling bathrooms though my wife will use the RV bath almost exclusively.

Rob,

Thanks. I'm the same way, I usualy spend my time around the pool and not go into it much at all. Kids will use it, but the parents mostly just watch them. Guests without kids don't want to be splashed and there is some demand for seperate areas that do not allow kids. I'm not going to go that far, but I do like that idea.

Most of my design ideas that I find online are pool related. I have hundreds of pictures of patio areas, landscaping ideas and lounging ideas. It's all be done already by others, I just need to put it together in my area. :D

The individual bathrooms are becoming the standard practice in new parks. People will use a comunity bathroom with others as long as it's clean, but when they find a place with nice individual bathrooms, that's the first thing they tell you about.

Oh yea, you can sell those trapped hogs.
I'll try and find that link on Texas hogs. Guy's around here (Commerce, TX) trap them and make around $10,000 per year but that's with small 8x4x4 traps. The buyer will pick them up if around 20 or more in your corrall. Many buyers post their rates on the web. If I remember correctly a 250 lb hog pays around $145 or so.

Have fun.

SUPER Flush! Eddie when I worked in a large ofice building they had these toilets that had unbelievable 'suction" during the flush. I often thought, 'Man I wish I could get that kind of suction at home" If you can get toilets with that "super" kind of suction that would be great.

Rox,

Your right. Toilets that flush everything away the first time is very important. I'll have to buy commercial toilets for this. I've tried all sorts of residential ones and found that even with the same brand and model, they are not consistant.

My goal is to find one that works and then buy the rest. I'm gonna make the supply house angry by returning them, but before I buy one, I'll tell them what I want. If it works, then they will sell me allot of toilets. If not, we'll have to keep trying until we find a good one.

One thing I read along these lines was to use plastic toilet seats. Anything with any weight to it will get busted. Most parks keep extra seats on hand to deal with vandalism. It's a very common issue. Same with toilet paper and paper towels. I'm going with electric dryers for this reason. It's just too much effort and expense to use paper towels. Of course, guests will have to provide there own towels for bathing except for the cabins. I'll provide towels there.

Thanks,
eddie

Charlie,

I'd love to know the name of the site. I have almost an unlimited supply of hogs here. There is 460 acres across my creek that is total jungle. A few guys have the lease to hunt it, but are lucky to kill one hog or deer a year on it. They just can't get around the land, it's too thick, but full of hogs.

My other neighbor is 240 acres and is on my other side and back property line. He has a dozen feeders out and is thick with hogs too. I'm right in the middle.

Here is the link.
This time I did not see any buyer adds, but I only looked for a minute or two.

Some good discussion on hog trapping. Many things I learned last year, like can't try and move them to trailer in heat of the day in Summer. Hogs die quickly from heat stroke.

I think this guy is out of Canton that runs the web page.

Hope this helps
Have fun!

Eddie,

Looks like a little more investivation on the hog selling may be in order.
I think the law changed or something. If I read it right only a licensed hog holding facility can buy hogs in Texas. Where they or who they are I have not been able to find so far. Apparently the pigs must be tested and quarentined before or after shipment. I'm not sure now.

Charlie,

Yes, I think we were on that site reading the same thing at the same time. Too bad, but it's not worth the possible hassle for a few bucks to sell the animals.

Another thing that I thought was interesting is they are all about hog trapping, but they freely admit that traps are the worse way to control hog populations.

Might have to rethink this.

I guess we were a bit different; never cared whether they had a pool, never used one or went near it in the places that did have. And the only places where we used the park's showers were places that had no sewer hookup so didn't want to fill the gray water tank on the RV too fast.

Eddie, we had a 5th wheel for a short time. We didn't take it out enough for me to be able to help you with any suggestions.

Our most memorable moment was checking in at Eisenhower State Park on Lake Texoma. I was at her counter signing in. Barb and Jimmy were behind me looking at an aquariam when Barb screemed one of those hair raising screems. The Park Ranger and I both are in caridac arrest. I spun around and Barb and Jimmy are almost out the door. Turned out there was a very large rattle snake in the aquariam and had struck at the them when they got to close.

I don't like snakes any more than you do so don't put in any snake aquariams, but put in something that will make the visit memorable.
