I was talking about having to put the pet down yourself. I was in a funk for weeks/months. Funny I have been in a war zone, but having to put down my own dog hit me harder then anything else I have had to shoot.

A good friend told me awhile ago the reason God made dogs die so young, so that we can enjoy more than one in our lives.
They are all different and special.

Had to do the same thing about 3 1/2 years ago. Bailey the boxer drove me nuts the first ten years of his life, finally calmed down when his health started to go.

Waited a year to finally buy Reuben the boxer. Wife and I swore we were done for a while because of young kids and too much activity in our lives. All it took was sending my wife a picture and the next day we were in the car to get him.

Best behaved dog I ever had. Did wonders to make our house feel like a home again.



And calmed his little brother Matthew down...a little, hehe!
