Kandi looked like a great dog. It is amazing what a few bucks can do at a shelter. I still miss each of our old dogs -- although the one we have now is "best ever".

Like other posts, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I went through the same thing two years ago. First and only, so far, grave I've dug with my BX25. Our then 14-year old family dog started getting sickly right after I stopped working. I spent much of my first year of retirement nursing her. Carried her up and down almost every step and had to run her outside quick many times since she was getting incontinent. It was fate in a way that I was home to take care of her, otherwise we would have been faced with the difficult decision of putting her down much sooner. She lasted a full year into my retirement. I still miss her, but the memories are fonder now and less painful. May you be in peace over Kandi's passing.

That's terrible. I just had to put down my buddy of 15yrs in June. Worst day of my life.

Had liver cancer, was wasting away as he couldn't eat as much as he wanted, but he soldiered on. He was always under foot and in any photo we took. House is really empty without him. So many memories.

My Golden is now 11 years old and while in good health that's getting into the dangerous age for Goldens.

This may seem strange, but I already know where she is going to be buried.

My dad died in '89 and my mother a couple of years later. My mom collected elephant curios of all kinds and when we cleaned out the house, we found this small elephant container filled with ashes. I guess my mom wasn't ready to part with all my dad and kept a little remembrance.

At my house there is a small rise near the house that was the perfect place for dads final resting place.

Tess is going to spend eternity with my dad. I think they will enjoy each other.

My heart goes out to you, I've buried two Whippets and they were the toughest days of my life. I now find myself reliving the good times with each of them. They enriched my life more than ANY human could.

I buried my pet pound puppy of 14 years in my grove behind the house. Where she spent most of her life hunting.

I actually had tears in my eye's when I lost mine, "Dusty" at 14 years.
It is heart wrenching when you have to bury them yourself,

So sorry for your loss. Dogs become such a part of the family. My wife and I lost our dog unexpectedly almost a year and a half ago and I still miss him a lot. Just remember all the fun times you had.

I haven't posted in a long time, I logged in and came across this. I'm so sorry for your loss, as I'm typing away, my pup (pup to me) will be 5 next month, I cant imagine what you going threw, my thoughts to you and your family.
