OK guys ... My apologies for the late and urgent request ... am chastened by having to ask!

I have what I think is a safety interlock switch not allowing my BX24 to start. Everything seems to work ... fuel pump ticks, glow plug shows working ... but will not spin the starter.

Have seen this before. Requires jiggling controls for such things as gear speed selector around until something changes and it starts.

Need the tractor to move snow ... way too much driveway to do by hand.

What do I need to know to start isolating the problem?

I would look first at the forward-reverse pedal switch. I don't know how it works or where it is. Just that if you are off the running tractor and move the pedal, it dies.

PTO switch /lever must be in neutral, HST pedal must be in neutral position also some tractors require the transmission to be in neutral also. Check all these and if all are in neutral, then rock the HST pedal back and forth while holding the key in start position.

Try rocking the HST pedal back and forth. If that doesn't work turn the key on and try jumping across the starter.

Thanks guys. Read the threads on non-starting BXs. I suspect the PTO ... will try it but now have to dig the tractor out first.
