In the end of the day, not having the 3PH assembly with the tractor will hurt resale much worse than $200. I have the same opinion of buying these machines with out a FEL assembly. Unless you are in the exceptional case of Mr. Brown, not having a FEL misses the fundamental point of this machine. When you go to sell it, the $1,600 you save will make your tractor nothing more than a VERY expensive lawnmower without the FEL.

Use it or not, Kubota should increase the cost of the tractor by $150 or $200 and include it with every one. I've agreed with Mr. Brown in the past and I'll do so again here.

Properly used, stored, and cared for, these machines will last 30+ years. I'd wager to say that somewhere in that 30 years of service, the 3PH would be handy at least once.

Of course I'm one of those "have the right tool before you need it" sort of guys...I bought my PHD from a fellow TBN-er a couple years ago and didn't really use it (well...didn't use it PROPERLY) until the other weekend when I finally put steps out of my back door (we've been in the house 3 years today). What would have been 2 backbreaking hours digging 4 holes in hardpan turned out to be 15 minutes of low RPM tractoring pleasure with a cup of coffee in the cupholder. Don't even remember what I paid for the PHD...$300 or $275...it was worth much, much more at that very moment.

Same will go for the 3PH for someone sometime.

I really did consider the JD x455 and JD x700 when I was shopping.
One of the reasons the BXs won out over JD was because I would have to have paid extra for a 3 point on JD but the 3 point came with the BXs.
If I hadn't wanted/needed a 3 point I would have just stuck with the CC GT2554 and not bought anything.

We are starting to beat the dead horse here now. REgardless of what the dealer says - If you have it - chances are you will use it. even just once in the lifetime. For a 15-20k machine - i really cannot comprehend why kubota is not including the 3 pt anymore. Even a city slicker whom never even touched a power tool could very well use one someday. what is 100 bucks more in the 15k-20k sticker price ?! ok i am done ranting now.
