Sandblasting

Danny,
Had a small tractor project this afternoon. Water will sit at the bottom side of the front grille and rust has set in. Here's a before (after wire brushing) and after shot posted to give you an idea of what a small sandblaster will do. I will tell you up front, I am a complete novice at this.

If the paint wants to stick, I leave it alone on a project like this. The metal ends up with a dull finish. Almost looks like grey primer, but it's the raw metal. Ready to be primed and painted.

That looks great. Now I have to wonder, but after using the angle grinder to make my links fit, I know that it will take some paint and rust off pretty quickly with the right wire wheel/sandpaper/buffer combination.. Thinking too about one of the air powered ones, might be more agile to use on the trailer. Going to put it in the garage soon and start working on it as time allows and weather makes outside stuff a no go. What kind of blaster did you use on this, and how much material was used.

Still need to talk the wifey into Kubota Orange for it, but she seems to think it MIGHT stick out like a sore thumb in the driveway. Some folks dont appreciate real art!
