You would know more than you know now. Having information beats guessing every time.

you don't realize that on one hand you all have been telling me to just go with it, and see what happens, Which I did. Then on the other hand you are telling me that I should have checked everything out so I would know where I am on it, that having information beats guessing every time.

If you had compression test results you could make a more informed decision on how to deal with the smoke that either appears or doesn’t appear depending on which of your posts I read.
There is a thought process to decision making and gathering information is a key part of a logical troubleshooting and repair strategy.
There an old redneck saying that you have to be smarter than what you are working on. There is more than a grain of truth to it.

I'm not that far north. I live close to the forks where the Old Man River and the Bow River come together to start the South Saskatchewan River. Lethbridge is about an hour to the west and Medicine Hat is a little less than an hour to the east. If I drive south for an hour and a half I'm in Montana.

Yesterday was a nice day. Above freezing +10 C or so. This morning a cold front blew in and now we are below freezing -4 C. Tuesday we are supposed to be back up above freezing.

+10 is not bad at all, if it is sunny with calm wind.
Yesterday was a bit too warm here......31C, but today was better.....23C.
More of that 23C is forecast for next week.
I do like Florida in the Winter time, and...... I don't do Florida in the Summertime.

Last year, I sold my Summer home in Nova Scotia.
I miss it!

" you need to be smarter than the thing is"
70+ years ago my dad explained that concept.

Maybe you should go back and read my post about the times there was very little smoke, every time was when I started the engine after sitting short periods there was less that cleared up faster, when it sat for longer periods there was more smoke. there has not been a time when there was no smoke at all. Besides all that , you are far from judge and jury, if it bothers you so much, just ignore any of my post, might be good for your bp

A self explanatory PM.

Good post Rick. I have no respect for someone that will PM something that they don't have the balls to say in the thread.

I would have done the same thing you did. Post it publicly. I probably would have done it quicker than you did. :)

I did as soon as I saw it. I had the ***** on my ignore list for a while then figured I should know what kind of garbage he was posting.
He is back on it now.

I want to thank all you who sincerely were interested in this thread about trying to save a Ford 3910 tractor that had a lot of issues that could easily have made it a junker or parts tractor. I had never tried to recover one from this condition before, even though I have owned several Ford Diesel tractors before, so I was unfamiliar with the engine and injection system, and some of the mechanical operations. I was hoping by posting this thread that I could learn and maybe someone else dealing with a similar situation could find help. Sadly some of the other posters decided to get critical and judgmental toward the newbie, and tried to take the thread into a cat and mouse game. I fully intend to finish the work I started on this project, hopefully without anymore games.
