Scaffolding, HF vs, NT vs. TSC

I think they are all about the same. I have two used sets. You can make all kinds of feet for them with square tubing. I like having two sets. When ever I can I set them up side by side or end to end and clamp them together. Increases the stability and gives you a lot more working surface. I've never stacked mine but I would want some serious bracing if I did.

Just got back with both sets. One boxed, one floor display. I'd probably have asked for a discount if they hadn't already cut 60 bucks off for the price match. Seem pretty sturdy.

I won't be stacking. I'll either do side by side, or maybe T or L patterns if necessary.

Got one set up. Little tough to balance things with a bum wing, but that's getting better slowly.

Need to buy or make some flat plates for the legs that won't sink into loose dirt (which is how this whole mess started).

Hand holes cut into the wood platform are great for moving it around, but may be a trip hazard when in use. Thinking about getting some rubber mat if I can get a good price.

I can't find anything like this at TSC, but the legs should be the same ID ... or NO? (Yeah, I could go out and measure .... )

I have one that I purchased from TSC about two years ago. At that time, TSC beat HF's price and on occasion I notice that they still seem to. No issues with my set from TSC.

I got some bricklayers type scaffold from Badger Ladder years ago. They had a deal going on with free shipping if you bought three sections.

Needed to shoot some nails in the rafters in the shed I've been working on. The peak is about 14' up and I'm not keen on ladders after .....

I can comfortably hold a nail gun at about 7' or a bit more. Set one scaffold at about that distance below the peak. Set the other about half that height, positioned it beside the first and lashed the two together. Used a step stool to get on the first, then kneeled onto the second and stood up. Just about perfect height to shoot the nails and enough room to turn around and do two more sets without repositioning everything. At that height, I'm standing between the rafters and can use them as guardrails.

On these small light scaffolds (I have the HF one) DO NOT PUT A LADDER ON TOP. Accident going somewhere to happen. I bought mine for one project as it was cheaper than renting one for the time I needed it. My friends and the church have used it a lot since.
