I checked your profile and you do not have a tractor yet. I think the combo in question utility will depend on the size of your tractor.
I went down this road two years ago. I have a Kubota 2910. Have the Landpride Rake with drop-down blade and gauge wheels. By itself, its good for road maint. and final grading. I put the the scarifier on and found the combo much too long and I could not get proper adjustment. The scarifier was too light to properly rip at the angles I could obtain. Perhaps a bigger tractor would work better. Upon reviewing the situation, my dealer decided my tractor was too small to use the set and took the scarifier back. I bought a new Landpride Boxblade for the same money. Along with Hydro. Top & Tilt, the Boxblade works very well in my soil. It carries much more soil than the drop down blade and does a much better job rough grading. Additionally, you can grade in reverse with a boxblade. You cannot do that with the rake/ blade combo without taking off the gauge wheels.
