I had a guy call me a couple years ago all excited because he had saw a Black Panther!!!! He got a picture of it on his phone. I said I'd love to see it!!! He stopped by. He had a picture of a Feral black house cat.

I certainly agree that the similarities might be make it hard to distinguish in some areas. Maybe so in your area, wherever that is.

In my experiences I've had no problem distinguishing between a Coyote and a Wolf. One of my sightings in Colorado was in scrub brush that was just above my beltline, somewhere around 40". To keep track of me that Wolf would move a couple hundred feet or so and then raise his head out of the brush to check on me. I've never saw a Coyote that can clear 40" brush with his entire head. Maybe they exist somewhere I've not been.

I almost lost a arm taking this picture of my black panther.......... jasper.jpg

Very nice... like the house, porches, and general setting... I hope its buried in the middle of about 500 acres, with limited access... *grin* I like my farm, but its split into thirds by a 2 lane highway and a gravel county road between my house and barn... no peace, traffic at all hours.

Your place is beautiful...

Middle of 95 acres. Couple of neighbors up on the main road, 8 years and I've only met one, and that was 4 years ago... :D

There is no science that says black panthers (or about any other animal) can't or hasn't existed...the opposite of albinism (white (no pigment) is melanism (jet black pigment)...and it can occur in any of the large cat species regardless of the region...

No, not much even today, some eagels that can take lambs, wolverins, lynx have allways been around, Wolfs are becoming a big problem i some areas in Norway, particulary in the east, this is rewilding from the goverment so its a very infected conflict between urbanist/green vs traditional rulal living pepole, farmers and hunters.

Oh, those damm eagles!
I love roast lamb!
I don't want the eagles to eat them!

I agree. I certainly believe they exist. But not in this County.

The fact is they can exist anywhere normally pigmented animals live...

Of course.

I think you've missed the point. He could have shown me a picture of a yellow feral cat and said he saw a Mountain Lion. The answer would have been the same. It's a feral cat.

You've got grey squirrels, black squirrels, red squirrels, and yes, white squirrels. Go figure...
