I am over in Chelmsford - just a short drive from you. I bought my tractor up at Chappells in Milford NH. There were a couple of people I knew who had bought tractors from them and gave me good recommendations when I was looking. They weren't the absolute cheapest but their prices were not that bad - and I have gotten very good service from them.

Same here, My first tractor I put a deposit down on a b7500 at MB tractor then I learned of Chappell and called them they were 500 cheaper so I went to Chappell and have been going ever since I'm now up to a B 7800 tractor and love it. Awesome machine. When looking for atachments and what not you have to play the game of shopping around and dickering.

Jim: NICE looking job you did on the lights!

Now have you had a chance to try them out at night? I was wondering if you had to re-orient the lens being that they are fog lamps?

Looking at the photos and the mounting screw location, I was wondering if the lamps were projecting a vertical beam instead of horizontal? Just a matter of drilling another hole 90 degrees from the current. I'm not picking...I'm just being curious. Anyway, nice looking addition to the Bota.

Looks like I'll be buying a tractor AND a welder....seems everyone is having a lot of fun here and I want to play as well.

I picked fog lights because I knew the beam that they throw would be just what I wanted. Good quality fog lights put out a horizontal beam that stays low to the ground ( to avoid glare in foggy conditions). Lately I have actually had a lot of time to try them out - I had a few projects that needed to get finished up that ended up being a lot of night work and we just recently got 15 inches of snow here so I was out clearing snow at night too. The lights work great. Combined with the headlights I can see where I am going with the bucket up in carry position or down on the ground. Previously I had problems seeing where I was going when I was driving with the bucket in a safe carry position ( about a foot off the ground). I could have put the lights up on the ROPS like a lot of other people have done but I experimented with that and did not like the glare that I got right near my eyes when I was working. Plus during the summer months having lights right near your head tends to attract bugs.

That ought to be standared equipment with a loader.
I guess Kubota's not that smart yet?

Very nice work.
I especially like the attention to detail and the gusseted brackets. They are a great practical addition to the tractor and I will surely have to copy what you've done.

Just finished putting these on. Thought you might like another perspective. My problem was the tractor lights are blocked by the FEL when down. Work fine when it's up. I wanted light shining over top of the bucket. BTW, Simplicity Legacy XL. Mounted them on the crossbar of the FEL. And I was asked before...the bar is stionary so doen't change the angle when the bucket is raised or lowered,

I originally thought of putting some lights in the same location that you put yours - the problem with my BX23 is there is no crossbar on the FEL like your tractor has. I thought about building a bar across to mount the lights and then came up with the idea of putting the lights in the pods down low. What I could really use is another set of lights mounted high in the front like they put on the tractors with cabs or FOPS setups. That would mean I would have to build a cage structure on the tractor though - maybe next summer /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
