I curse a lot - in my own language. See in English it has absolutely zero emotions for me; it is just a sound. The kids can hear me - but they don't understand a word of it

The shock value of the 7 words is gone so I think they will loose their appeal.
I try to avoid them.

Well you keep saying them while hitting your thumb or while drinking they will lose all meaning and become normal. And *** Moss mentioned...young kids are soaking it all in. Don't fuss at your kids because they do it when they hear you do it. My kids don't swear because we don't swear. they also don't drink because we don't drink. They don't smoke either. Sometimes its that simple. And I know they know ALL the words in the book. They choose like us not to use them.

I think a person has total control of what "words" come out of their mouth. But the meaning can be lost sometimes... I'm guilty of that in conversions with my wife...sometimes.

My kids don't swear because we don't swear. they also don't drink because we don't drink. They don't smoke either.

My parents didn't drink, smoke, cuss or be a general scourge on society either and look how I turned out.
