Yeah, I looked at a dodge 6.7 with 4.10痴 and steered away from it for the same reason. I have 3.73痴 in this one. I致e put about 6k miles on it since it I got it (has 70k on it now. Driving unloaded on long trips (3hrs to the farm) at approx 70-77 I知 getting 14.1 to 15.6 on average, but it痴 been idling a lot. What are you getting out of yours? I hear that deleting them will gain 2-3 mpg, but I am waiting till the warranty is up (March) and I have some extra cash (summer hopefully) before I go down that road.

Real late to this show but my 17 f450 I知 selling averages 14.5mpg with the 4.30 gears and a 100gallon slip tank plus toolbox. Can稚 complain about the mileage at all for having the capability to tow 32,500 lbs

From the Transport Canada website: "Canada's Motor Vehicle Safety Act (MVSA) and its Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (MVSRs) require that all new vehicles sold in (or imported into) Canada and built after December 1, 1989, be fitted with daytime running lights (DRLs) that go on when you start the vehicle."

And I agree with Mike - tail lights should come on too.

Thanks for posting... always interested to see how things vary.

Yep... can't have all that capability on tap without a price.

I've started to drive the Rover my brother gave me... it was his only tow vehicle for 10 years... towed fine his 7k dump trailer and his horse trailer and the travel trailer... but was always having issues with the air suspension that only came up when towing.

MPG for the last 6 months of driving... 12 mpg vs the Corolla at 41 mpg...

Im talking about people driving down an interstate in total darkness with no lights on. Have seen it several times. They are following other taillights.

Dang pallets out joyriding again. Can not reach the headlight switch, no arms. They are good at following lights, that is what gets them going.

Think you hit on the answer, except pallets are probably smarter than these people.

It’s hard to beat the headlight switch in a 90s model Chevy. I don’t like the switches that you need a flashlight to find in an unfamiliar vehicle.

My old 96 F250 PSD i think originally came from Canada. It had the daytime running lights. It was great. It turned the highs on at a lower voltage or something. I hardly ever remember changing a headlight bulb in that thing the 13 years I owned it.

And worst of all, are the cars made intentionally low-visibility using flat paint or camo.

Although I have to admit, I love the flat black look, and the flat black hoods [bonnets] on school buses make so much sense, I kinda want one of those.

If you lived in Canada that would NOT have been a problem.
ALL cars registered in Canada MUST must be wired so that you have headlights on when the ignition switch is on.
If you buy a car in the USA, and register it in Canada, and it does not already have this feature, you must have it converted.
I think it is a GREAT IDEA!

My Honda Elements came with DTRL, but my Fit did not- I love it unless it makes me forget to turn my real headlights on- which is very rarely.

That's better than I expected it to get, is that still the 6speed auto? I would have looked closer at the 450's if I would have known that would get that. We drove unloaded 470 miles sat at 72-77 mph, 15.3 mpg. I was pretty happy with that for a truck that is 9800lbs.
