I think I almost made this thread today. I loaded the tractor to do some mowing 3 miles away. I thought I heard some unusual noises. When I got home I found I had grabbed the 1-7/8 ball instead of the 2-5/16. They were beside each other and I picked up the wrong one. Fortunately it was smooth roads and I loaded with good tongue weight. Lesson learned - pay attention.

Happened once when I loaned my trailer to a guy so he could retrieve a truck. Told me he had the 2 5/16 ball required. Found out while loading the truck that he did not... Ruined his towing truck's tailgate.
I saw all sorts of stupid things while pumping gas after HS. One woman tossed a lit cigarette out the window while I was filling her tank... when I said something to her she made it clear that I was stupid. Somebody popped the radiator cap on a hot engine just as I was coming up to help... it blew the cap onto another vehicle, sprayed antifreeze everywhere and caught me in the face, causing 2nd degree burns. It was a good job though... because after about 3 months I realized that I needed to go back to school.

Why does the Humvee have a Michigan manufacturer plate on it? Looks like it is just tie strapped on. Also does the trailer have a steering axle under it? Jon

It's some manufacturer's vehicle, not Army. it's here for a display. That axle is steerable, you sort of see the tirods in the picture, I didn't crawl around under it but I'm assuming it's using the three hitches to steer? Seems like a PITA to back up.
