Sorry you got hurt. By lowering your bucket to the ground before leaving the seat of your tractor you eliminate the possibility of hitting your head on the bucket edge. This method is SOP for tractor safety, and part of situational awareness.

Think my 410 loader even had paint on it at 660 hours. First thing I did with it was to move 22 tons of gravel. Didn't take the paint off. Good JD paint.

Paint came almost totally off the Gravely snow plow I had. Sprayed it with the same stuff I put on the corners of this one. Never rusted. The rust reformer stuff turns FeO to black FeS.
