Re: \"sheds and out buildings\"

That really is some fine work. Anyone would be proud to have that beautiful building on their property. Thanks again for the inspirational photos.

Re: \"sheds and out buildings\"

Oh, and I forgot to mention, the door hardware is spiffy.

Re: \"sheds and out buildings\"

Cliff,
The hardware provided is very nice.

Now I'm looking for hardware for the inside to lock the doors in place.

Overall I'm very happy with the work and the quality of everything provided.

We're starting on a much larger building with the same builder in the spring.

Regards,
Chris

Re: \"sheds and out buildings\"

Chris, that is one beautiful building you have! I've never seen the doors slide on the inside, I like that idea. Great job, thanks for the pictures /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: \"sheds and out buildings\"

Rob,
I'm surprised since your deep in the snowbelt.

Doors that slide outside in snowy areas can freeze up easier.

90% of sliding doors around here are inside sliders. Have been that way for a hundred years or so....

The barn across the street that is well over 100 years old has a single inside sling door. The door is 10 feet wide and 12 feet high. It is a giant pocket door.

Chris

Re: \"sheds and out buildings\"

Rob,
I also forgot to say that with the big rolling wheels on those doors they slide open litterally with one finger.... Smooth as glass....

Chris

Re: \"sheds and out buildings\"

Chris:

Once again I am envious. Very nice building and it looks like the builder did a good job for you. Next time you have the camera out how about a shot from inside looking up.

As far as hardware: try Lee Valley and go to their hardware section.. They have a pretty decent selection of iron door hardware that might fit your needs.

We'll be waiting for spring when you start the big building except this time you have to include site prep and foundation shots also.

Kevin

Re: \"sheds and out buildings\"

Kevin,
I'll get you a shot looking up inside... The barn has a half loft for storage.

I'm starting to look for lighting for inside and out and I'll check out the site you posted for hardware.

Going to try to get some stain on it in the next week... Running out of time here pretty quick...

Regards,
Chris
