I'm surprised since your deep in the snowbelt.
Doors that slide outside in snowy areas can freeze up easier.
90% of sliding doors around here are inside sliders. Have been that way for a hundred years or so....
The barn across the street that is well over 100 years old has a single inside sling door. The door is 10 feet wide and 12 feet high. It is a giant pocket door.
Once again I am envious. Very nice building and it looks like the builder did a good job for you. Next time you have the camera out how about a shot from inside looking up.
As far as hardware: try Lee Valley and go to their hardware section.. They have a pretty decent selection of iron door hardware that might fit your needs.
We'll be waiting for spring when you start the big building except this time you have to include site prep and foundation shots also.
