Price is up to $340 this morning. Wonder if the run on sales from this thread sent up a flag?

I'm glad I ordered 1 last night!:)

Well that means they are aware of the price! Maybe we will get them for $270.80.

Dang it, I was going to sleep on it and order this morning! I have seen Amazon bump up prices when an item becomes popular, so I bet that is what happened here (it's infuriating if you are researching an item and then the price goes up because there were a bunch of sales). It may have nothing to do with the fact that the prices are too low. If sales cool off, it might head back down towards $270.

My order status has changed to "Preparing for shipping", I hope it holds up.

Last night I prioritized existing projects that are on hold while i searched for parts for the other welder. One of those ended up getting bolted together yesterday before this thread appeared out of shear frustration in mot being able to get it welded. That was a ton of work and certainly won't hold up as well as if it were welded.

If you look closely at the center of the pipe you can see two shiny bolts. I cut down a section of pipe and slipped (who am i kidding, hammered) it inside to splice the sections together. Next I was going to run a rod full length and bush it up at the ends to use as three point pins and bolt the old locking mechanism handle to the pipe for a center link. This is just to do light grooming on trails through the woods. In a week or so I can (hopefully) do it right!

$340 is still a fantastic price. If I was at all in the market I would jump on it now and be extremely happy. If a few others got an even better deal, good for them!

Yeah, 340 is still way cheap, cheaper than the 200 or the 200ST is now.

Umm, now that I bought one what other than PPE do I need?
I wasn't expecting to get a good welder this soon.

Agree $340 is still a deal, but I'm on the fence because of amperage requirements. Really, I should get the PA-140, since it can plug into the dedicated 240V/20A receptacle in my workshop (for PTAC heat pump) and be ready to weld. Anything wanting higher amperage is going to become an electrical project for me.

I think maybe Amazon is selling out their old stock of PA300's and planning on getting new stock from Everlast.
I noticed the picture of the PA300 on Amazon has a different looking face than the one on Everlast's website.
But, that's still a bargain and I ordered one.

Mark, if that's the case, what changes have they made on the new PA300's, besides the new look?

You can plug the 300 into that receptacle and weld all day long, just don't turn it up past what the receptacle will put out. About 150 amps.
