I guess cheaper gas is better than higher shotshells. Maybe the run on ammo brought down the gas price. I may try to get to Dick's next week, for some $4 shells. JC

well, i always want to get out all of my guns and shoot each one of them a few times...

i don't hunt........nothing wrong with it.......as a matter of fact, if i thought i could save money by shooting some deer on my property, i would....

my problem is, after i shoot it, i don't know what to do with it....:D

tis the season for most hunting begins thus get out there and shoot stuff. (clay pigeons are just fine)

uh, because that is the left's way of indirectly banning weapons.......the method is to tax the crap out of shells and make them too expensive to buy....

"we aren't telling you that you can't own a gun, we just think that this tax money should help all of the little kids of the nation......"

or, well, that's one tactic.....

warning, warning, thread going south!:D

ah, just keep it friendly, and maybe the mods will let it slide!:p

Can you cite a credible source to corroborate that statement?

Some certain recently elected individual's voting record in the Illinois and US senate maybe?

Well, that's not exactly specific, so let's try this for balance: FactCheck.org: NRA Targets Obama

The other reality is that nothing happens based upon one person, no matter who they are. In this country, laws require a majority of elected folks to agree. This is way too key an issue to just run through Congress like unrestricted wild fire.

It's important to pay attention to what's going on, but not to overreact. We've been through too many years of that already.

Again, just my .02 YMMV

Well, without getting absolutely poliitcal and getting into a site link war. The botome line is, many of us that enjoy our second amendment rights (more than others), and also believe that there is a LARGE movement to restrict our gun ownership much more than it is now. Each of us on here draw the line in the sand in a much different place. Any more regulation than what we have now, according to me, and where I draw the line, I consider a major attack on the 2nd amendment.

You, on the other hand, may consider, "In the Illinois Senate last year, I supported a package of bills to limit individual Illinoisans to purchasing one handgun a month; require all promoters and sellers at firearms shows to carry a state license; allow civil liability for death or injuries caused by handguns; and require FOID applicants to apply in person. I would support similar efforts at the federal level, including retaining the Brady Law.", all of this ok. I don't know and don't really care.

Just like the other fella that posted, if I want to come on here and say what I think without citing every little thread that exsists on the WWW, I can. Why? because you'll post everything that supports what you think and guess what, you'll just dig in to your postition and I'll dig into mine. All we wind up doing is wasting bandwidth and adding extra work for the moderators.

So, I think certain elected officials are going to hurt us and one way they may try- or have been planning on doing so- is to raise the price of ammunition out of reach for most people. As with most new gun laws, it'll only hurt the average Joe, like most of us here, and not do a thing to deter criminal acts.

You can have the last word, I don't need to beat a dead horse. You know where I stand......just like the original post(without all the site links).......

I threw my buddy a bachelor party and about

well, my daughter just hit a button on the computer and I lost everything I typed......

anyway, my general response was, i haven't priced any ammo for about 4-5 years.....

i was trying to get back on topic!:D

and if you feel the need to kill something , theres plenty of feral cats , dogs , goats , foxes and pigs that are destroying the enviroment to shoot at

How about teenagers who keep throwing crap out of their cars on the road in front of my neighbors place and mine?

Seriously, I've hunted with rifles and now just stick to my bow, however, if you seriously "feel the need to kill something", I can' help but think that you're a disturbed individual.

I had sticker shock over ammo a year or so ago when I went looking online to buy some "battlepacks".

Blame it all on China, the current war, and the new administration coming into office now.

The other reality is that nothing happens based upon one person, no matter who they are

You could also argue that the reality is that people do buy out of fear. That's something from which I try to stay away from.

OK.

Thanks.

My issue is not about any differences or similarities we have about the 2nd amendment, but is really a more generic concern about taking things out of context, quoting outdated material, or citing rumors as facts.

It's a shortcoming of mine that whether the topic is about motor oil, diesel fuel, medical practices, or the 2nd amendment, I'm interested in information that is both credible and objective.

I thought the link I provided did just that. It did not whitewash what was said in Illinois many years ago, but it also did not mention anything about a huge federal tax on ammunition coming in a couple months, which was the statement that took us (me) down this rabbit trail.

Gee, this is sounding more like a gun forum than a tractor forum - and for my role in that, I apologize.

I'd much rather talk about why a red tractor is so much better than some other colors.
