>1) Did you have to upgrade the loader for the high capacity? I >recall the base model 3130 loader being lighter duty.
yes.. I updated to the LA723 loader. The $4k difference is with the upgrade loader.
>Regardless, you wanted to use a pretty macho grapple and I >don't. Your needs made this important and to me it doesn't >matter. I can lift more weight with my bucket than you can >.with your grapple. Agreed?
Yes, you can lift more dirty with your bucket then I can with my grapple. But that is what I want with a grapple. ;-) Of course, I also have a 72" bucket and so I can lift more weight and volume of dirty then your bucket when I want to. Sound Fair?
>2) Aftermarket QA is available at a small cost for the CK30 to >provide all the benefits you speak of. The QA cost extra on the >3130.
Yes..and if I try to attach something heavry like a fork or grapple, it won't do what I NEED it to do.
>3) 3.5" on each side wider with AG tires only. Plus, I have no >hills so it isn't important to me. The QA on the CK30 allows the >use of any size bucket just like you have, in fact if the QA is >standard then the CK30 could use your bucket. What about R4 >tires? Is the 3130 track much wider with R4s?
No.. I think you misunderstood. Those are ON CENTER dimensions.
>4) Yep, 10" would be nice for stacking freight, hay, or loading >a dump truck but I have never not been able to reach >something.
Yes, well it won't reach my shop loft. Won't do what I NEED.
>5) I get confused on that one. The PTO on my ck30 is >activated by a lever and then the single clutch plate. I can >come to a stop and it keeps running at full speed. I think that >means independent.
Like I said.. dont remember what the CK30 offered here.
>6) yep just over 7" smaller turning radius. Doesn't really >matter to me.
It does matter to me when you have to drive around as many trees as I have to in the woods.
>7) 300 lbs? My tractor with loader tips the scale at 4000 lbs. >Any more and it would be hard to tow. These are both very >heavy tractors.
You are right, I don't attempt to tow mine. With FEL and something on the 3pt PT it is more like 6500#. My point here is the extract weight help with the loader and traction in the woods. More weight helped me more then it hurt. If I wanted a 30HP light tractor, looked at something like light
B3030 (30HP) tractor.
>8) Yep, teensy bit more HP at the PTO. Again, never been a >problem.
like I said. Bonus. 5% more power. I won't turn it down.
>.This excersize has really shown how the needs of the buyer >are so important. If not for your need to use that grapple, I >would say you are a super nit picker and that these tractors >are as close as apples to apples as you can possibly get.
not sure what you want me to say. But I wanted to thank you. You helped me proved what I been saying. To you it appears like the two tractors are the same because you don't see need for the extra capabilities. For me, I see a different tractor. For what I need it to do, the CK30 simply will NOT DO the job. Is my tractor better then yours? No, not from your point of view or someone in your similiar position. If I didn't need the extra capabilities beyond the CK30, I would have considered either the CK30 or
L2800 a bit more? If I had your requirements, the
L3130 would have not been right for me and I wouldn't understand why it was more money. That is my whole point.
>Now compare the
L2800 to the CK30, the
L2800 doesn't even >have a cupholder for crying out loud.
I didn't research the
L2800 very much after I realized that it wouldn't do not do what I needed it to do. Just like the CK30.
Cupholder was not a buying point for me. So, if you don't need what the
L3130 offers over the
L2800 or CK30 then you should be considering the
L2800 vs. the CK30 for about the same price. Not the
L3130. Do you still think your CK30 is the same as an
L3130. This is exactly why Kubota sells BOTH the
L2800 and the
L3130. They don't compete against themselves.
