QUESTION - how often is the BACKHOE used on this BX23S set-up ? is the backhoe worth it for the tasks? My wife is having doubts about it - the whole tractor thing, (she hasn't actually looked at it though), I still think it is the one best suited for me / us.

backhoes are completely new to me and I'm wondering if the backhoe has the value that I believe it does? I can think of a multitude of purposes for the backhoe as part of the TLB package, but perhaps my funds are better spent on the other implements ?

with the integrated backhoe in the BX23S package, it is not likely that I'd find a solo backhoe for this in the used listings (why would you sell the backhoe separately? this integrated one comes with the BX23S) If I were to buy a backhoe later, it would not be an integrated one.

similar / comparable for my needs, might be
B series models B2311 or B2261 don't have the backhoe incl
BX series models BX2680 or BX2380 don't have the backhoe incl

... pulling on the BX23S purchase trigger (I have a deal good till the end of May)

I have used mine to dig out tree stumps. Dig a huge hole for a fire pit. Dug some trenches. Used it to loosen dirt so i could level out part of a hill. Now once I get my woods cleared, and the other projects done, will I need it a lot? Probably not. However, my brother and some neighbors have already asked if I could do some things for them. I kind of think of it as a tool I have in my garage. I have bought a lot of tools just because I needed them for a project. Then they go on the shelf or bench and they sit there until I need it again. Eventually I will need it.. I just don't know when. My thinking may be different than others, but if you have a use for it, and you can afford it, then I would get it. If not, then you will have to rent something to do what you want done, and that money is basically gone. If you get a different BH later, then it won't be as nice as TLB package.

I thought a lot about that implement too and after making up a list of the projects around my place decided to get it. I have some holes to dig that will be footers for a pole barn and also plan to use the hoe to help me set poles also. Lots of tree stumps to dig up and some beds to make around the house. I have a burn pile I want to clean out and make into a nice burn pit too.
The thing about the hoe though is that you have to hook up your 3 point system anytime you want to change things out. It's a downside sure but really isnt that big a deal just a little more time consuming. The way they have the hoe hooked up with the clamp system makes changing it out pretty simple.
My thought when I purchased was that I would buy once cry once. I'd rather have the tool and not need it than not have it and kick myself for passing it up later.
I have zero regrets on my purchase. YMMV.

Same here. No regrets on the hoe purchase. Makes your Tractor just that much more versatile and useful.

well, thanks again

those comments are very convincing for my needs and plans - I do have some tree stumps, as well as areas to dig, pull dirt, level etc. I think it's a winner package (and obviously the history and sales evidence that also). :)

yesterday I sent an email to my sales repr ... re the 3rd function valve, 2 inch rear wheel spacers, tooth bar, and bucket hooks

today my wife (currently out of town) got her first chance to seriously check out what I've been talking about all these years. she was suitably impressed and even made suggestions of what options we might need ... I resisted saying "I told you so" but one day, I'll show her the current quote / pending deal (that is dated a month ago).

getting eager for this now.

cheers,

Cool. Another barrier/hurdle passed.
The only feeling better than that feeling of anticipation you are currently experiencing is the actualization that happens when she [your newest babe] arrives!

Take it for what it is. (my opinion). For all the work you'll ask the little BX to do, I'd personally go with a B series. Best of luck.

Insurance is available in Canada but it isn't KTAC. KTAC is a US company and not available in Canada but the same coverage is available through a company similar to KTAC and supported by KCL (Kubota Canada).

ktac is it any different getting insurance from you versus where your buying tractor from if it's still ktac?
