I think I misunderstood the "spring pin" part of the original message, and was thinking of something different from a "roll pin" like the front "propeller shaft" on my
B2710 had, and apparently the roll pin is what we're talking about, in which case, that thing ain't supposed to fall out and I don't know of anything that could hang on it and pull it out, so I'd have to say that should be under warranty.
Incidentally, the only time my
B2710 went back to the dealer was because I sometimes heard a little "rattle" that I couldn't identify, so I got under the tractor, got hold of that drive shaft and tried to wiggle it around and found it had just a little slack in it. I then went to the dealer, got under a new tractor and tried the same thing and couldn't get it to move at all. So when I described the "problem" to the service man, he suspected that roll pin was missing; said he'd seen that before and didn't know whether it had fallen out or whether they failed to put one in when they assembled the tractor. However, they found nothing missing, disassembled the whole front driveline, re-assembled it, found no problem at all,
but that corrected the rattle./w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif Only thing we can think of is if something got dirty, some little foreign material in there, or something wasn't exactly right, and the re-assembly made it right; still don't know. But anyway, it corrected the rattle and the dealer did not charge me anything for it.
