( Well I don't have a picture under my name but here is my Weimeraner, Cody. )

Tell us more about Cody. Too many people have the idea that Weimeraners are wild, bumbling idiot of a dog that can't be trained and destroy everything. Please tell everyone that this isn't true. Please, pretty please.... tell them he is a good dog..

He's a good dog now but, like all Weimeraners, he was wild and a real pain in the butt as a puppy. He chewed holes in my carpet and destroyed a couch and two chairs. He even chewed a hole through the drywall in my livingroom.......three times. I would fix it and he would dig out my patch.

We got Bailey as an 8 week old pup, almost 6 years ago. Basically, had the mind of a pup until she was about 3. Over the last year, she has become quite happy to sit around and watch me work, with the occasional squirrel/goose/groundhog chase.

One interesting thing, I don't think she knows she's a Lab, since wants absoluted nothing to do with water. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Labs are great dogs.

My labs have all been pupies for day one to the day they go, the have about 30 minutes of being grown up, then they go.

I love labs, they keep your hart young.

I got my mom a 6 month old yellow lab this spring, so far one pair of tennies before they were ever worn, one extension cord (not plugged in just hanging on the wall) sever virgina creepers, the shift knob in the truck and a few other misc items. This dog keeps my hart young by keeping the pressure up and the hart beating faster than normal lol. I would not have it any other way, mom might, but I don't.

This is Zoey my grandog. She is a Ridgeback and about 3 months old in the picture. She is now 6 months old and quite a bit bigger, time for an update.
Also have a large black Lab named Jake that actually belongs to a neighbor but thinks he lives at my house.
They are both great and friendly dogs.

Mine loves the water. My house is just a couple hundred yards from the Gasgonade River and Cody goes for a swim almost daily.

This is Bear.

One Friday evening in March 1999, my wife and I were preparing to drive to Wilmington, Delaware to pick up our son at the train station. We noticed a dog with two small puppies crossing our alfalfa field. I thought it a bit unusual at the time but didn't really think much more about it.

When we arrived home, there were some mournful puppy sounds coming from our lower porch. I was handed a flashlight and sent to investigate.

There, hiding in the woodpile, was a little puppy that looked to be barely old enough to be away from his mother. He looked like a miniature bear cub.

Terri: "What is it?"

Jim: "It's a puppy."

Terri: "What does he look like?"

Jim: "Ugliest dog I ever laid eyes on."

Terri: "Well you can't leave him there, he'll freeze."

I picked him up by the scruff of the neck and carried him up to the kitchen. Terri took him from me and held him in her hands.

Terri: "Can I keep him?"

At this point it was obvious to all concerned that the puppy was here to stay.

The dog under my name is Buddy. He's been the best companion from day one. We got him from a County Shelter, just one day before he was supposed to meet his maker. He was 5 months old and about 35 lbs that day......today about 70 lbs. He's 3 now /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif The whole ride home I kept asking him if he was going to be my "best buddy" so the name stuck.
Yes we've had some troubling times with him, including finding my LazyBoy in the hall/kitchen twice with the arm ripped off. And the kennel cough he brought home with him from the shelter.
He antagonizes the 2 cats that we have something fierce. But he's never far from my side, unless I'm on here, he's not allowed downstairs in the basement. The cats litter box and food is down here and it's their "safe haven" from him. But I rest assured he's laying at the top of the steps waiting on me to come up. During a recent tornado warning, we all went to the basement. He would not follow.....he's not "allowed down there" /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif He stayed at the top of the steps laying down. So I hooked his leash to him and he followed me down.

He's just my "Buddy"
