hi< mounted my splitter trayback hilux.has loglifter which works using return stroke on splitter.cut .split.load at tree. 3 cub metre cage on hilux.had splitters for 20 years this is best way for 1 man tocut down handling of firewood.all in one trip to forest. history.cutting hardwoodand logging for 28 years.in mature eucaliptus forests s.eastern australia. has anyone mounted their splitter on directly on a ute or truck so they can tow atrailer aswell.i havent seen anyone else do this.it makes sense to me .we are here for a good time.not a long time ..woodgrub;;

one problem is thelocation of the pin in your wedge related to the hieght of your wedge, a slanted log will pop the front bolt on your slider like butter

I would possibly look into moving the added separators on the wedge further toward the knife edge. Doing this will increase the speed of the splitter tremendously.

No its a 4x24 from Northern. Still not happy with how it arrived.
Not sure if you can see in the pics but it has packing and shipping stickers all over it not to mention about half of the paint has been scratched off.
Shipped it bare with no bubble wrap, box or even wrapped in paper.

Moose-I bought a used Lion 4x24 for the last splitter i built and that's how it arrived also, but since i got it off ebay for cheap i didn't complain. I'm gonna pitch a good gripe if i spend $200 on a 5x24 nortrac from Northern and it arrives half as bad as yours looks! Good looking machine though!
