For what it's worth... I'm new to this forum. And, since I'm new to tractors and especially diesels, I appreciate the helpful information from other owners. I rely on the experience of the other owners to help me make the right decisions.

I have been around gasoline engines all my life. I've built engines from small engines used in lawn applications to race engines in my street cars and 4-wheel-drive trucks. It never hurts to get another person's opinions. That is how we learn new tricks.

Now, I thought this forum was against flaming other members and I'm certainly not trying to do that here. My comments are only to encourage free and open debate, er... discussion. So, please continue to post the questions and comments that you have. I, for one, am interested in hearing what you have to say.

Honestly I don't think there is any "flaming" in these posts but thats just my opine. It seems that oil preferences stimulate as much debate as politics or religion, maybe as much as Rowe vs Wade. It would be nice if we could all agree what oils to use in these China units but doubt seriously we would all agree on just one. Personally I feel any brand of reputation is better than the lubes that the tractor was built with but thats only my opinion. I use Mobil oil exclusively whenever I can, but then again I am biased as I own 534 shares of XOM so what do you think I would recommend? I think 15w 40 engine oil is a choice that many use and can basically agree on. Now the trans & hydraulics is the area that most debate. I use 85w90 in trans and Aw32 in hydraulics. Maybe I'm wrong but its my preference. I'm still open to debate with which oils to use in trans & hydraulics as long as it can be backed up by fact. Let the debate continue!
