All right Harv, I am fairly new to this board and have not posted too much, but I read this entire thread. I then felt compelled to create my own signature. So here it is:

. I saw your christmas animation and I have to say: "WOW!" That must have taken forever! This was my first animation and it took me about an hour, but I had fun with it. Thanks to all who contributed to this thread.

Ooh! Nice! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Except, it's a little big in file size for a sig... under 10k would be better.

What software do you use to create the animation?

That's some fast-growing grass ya got there, John. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif You might consider some chain guards on your cutter there, for the safety of TBN viewers. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Watch out, Muhammad!! I sense a wave of animated sigs coming up. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

I would assume Ulead GIF Animator will work just fine.

An animated .GIF is just a series of .GIF images chained together. You will have to create each "movement" just like a cartoon is drawn. The software will combine them into one larger file. You can setup the delay between images, and how many times you would like it to cycle.

Unless you have a real need for an animated GIF, stay away from them. They take longer to load and they usually are pretty annoying.

This is an example of a "good" non-annoying animated .GIF:

I was wondering how to make these signatures. Could you tell me where to find the information?

Thanks PTRich
