I did some measuring and found that 2 ammo boxes would fit perfectly behind the seat of my tractor. When i took the covers off, I found that the pins on one hinge fit into the holes of the other hinge and the 2 boxes connect together perfectly. I took the can covers off as if they had stayed, I would have had to space it them away from the crossbar and the hinging would have presented space problems...too tight. I drilled a drain hole in the bottom of each box. I don't expect I'll get much water in it as it's under the canopy and is kept inside when not in use. Chains and old tools, spare pins, etc will be in them.

TSC has the perfect paint match too.

Looking Good OP.... and that paint is perfect.

Mind if I ask what the color code/brand is?

Tractor Supply MAJIC brand Tractor, Truck and Implement Spray, color IH RED the code on the cap is 8-22972

It's a perfect match. I scratched up my BH and sprayed this on. Couldn't tell where I did it.

This is great, I had no idea ammo cans would fit, nor did I know of that paint match. Sweet.

the seat is all the way back, so that's good. I'm over 6'3". If I move it up, my leg doesn't like to go under the steering wheel very well, getting in or out. All is well with the world !

I like this idea, but it would not work on the 15 series, as the fuel tank is behind the seat. On the other hand, I don't think ammo boxes are deep enough for the size wrenches needed for fittings on 16 series tractors. In the factory tool box behind my seat, I can fit enough wrenches for every hydraulic fitting on my tractor. Those wrenches are the ones you want to keep on board in case your red beast springs a leak.

the ammo boxes are 11 inches long, each by about 4 wide. They'll hold some decent size tools, but I don't usually carry tools for tractor repairs as I usually don't take the tractor too far from my workshop. I'm retired and not using the tractor commercially, so if it breaks, I can take the time to get what I need to fix it, there's no hurry. Chains, pins, clips, chainsaw stuff, gloves, etc will be what I use them for.
