Does anyone know anything about the Sims cabs? I just spoke with a dealer briefly who was recommending Sims (as opposed to Curtis) for a cab for a B2910. He was just closing up when I spoke with him and we didn't have much time today. I looked for a Sims web site, but came up empty.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Wayne,

Sims has been around a while, but I don't have a link for them either. Your best bet is just through dealer lit if they have any. I've heard good things about Sims, but there aren't huge differences unless you jump to another price category. Curtis Cabs are well known and I have seen more hard sided models from them than from Sims.

Of course in the higher price range, there is always the Laurin cab to look at... See the attached photo for the model that fits the B2710 (a user sent it in a while ago) ... I would guess that they have one for the B2910 as well. Their website is at http://www.laurin-inc.com/an/ but I am not sure when it was last updated. I've gotten good service from them off their website, requesting information and prices. I don't have a price for this model, but one for the B21 was listed at $4,200+ so this one probably isn't far off of that. And then dealers might discount as well.

I've got a Sims cab on my L3750 and it has held up very well over the years. I have heat in it but no A/C. The only down side that I have with it is a few blind spots on the cab that I have. But my cab is over ten years old and design is different for each model of tractor too. But with any cab there are bound to be a few blind spots.

Its bulletproof in the way it's built. I've put it through some very rough abuse and its held up very well. Well worth the money spent for comfort. Would I buy another Sims--yes--.

Muhammad,

Thanks very much for the info. I didn't realize that there were so many tractor cab manufacturers.

Gordon,

Thanks very much for the info. I managed to stop by and see the dealer again today. Unfortunately he didn't have anything on the lot with a Sims cab to look at up close. He photo-copied some Sims literature, but it was sketchy at best. It looks like Sims offers all steel and Vinyl enclosed cabs. But there's no info on things like whether the doors are easily removeable, or a listing of any accessories that might go with the cab (work lights, ventilation fan, Fuse block, strobe light, etc.).

Since Sims isn't on the net, I guess I had better contact them directly to see if they can provide better information. Thanks again,

My cab was on the tractor when I bought the tractor. My cab has heater and blower with filter on the rear of the cab to filter incoming air. It has its own fuse block with front and rear wipers four work lights prewired two front two rear. A fuse for a radio of course!! Wouldn't be without that. A fuse for a dome light and switch also. and the fuse panel has three blanks for addons. The door can be removed as well as the window. The rear window folds out and is hinged at the top. The side window can also be folded back and locked open. Is roomy and makes life alot easier.

As I said before it has a few blind spots and its also loud when brush hogging for hours at a time but everything has its trade offs. But all in all its a very well built cab and I've been very happy with the cab.

If you have any other questions that I can Answer please ask and if I can I'll try to answer them.

Well, I tell ya, we used to sell Sims. What Junk!!!!! I am glad we don't sell them anymore. Now we sell Curtis. They are a lot better cab. The best way to get any cab is with hard sides too and not soft. After a while the soft sides get scratched, ripped, hard to see through, etc. i installed 3 cabs on smaller B series, 2 cabs on F series and about 5 on L series.

The best way to go is factory cab, but they don't have it on b series yet. The L series cabs are really nice and so are the M series.

Kubotaman,

Thanks for your input. Not knowing anything about aftermarket cabs, I need all the help I can get. I have decided that it MUST be a hard sided cab.

Thanks Again,
