Skid Steer Grapple on a tractor?

It's not a third function; I have a diverter valve and the hose ends are two female on the loader and two males on the grapple/snowplow. Both rear remotes are two female at the valve also.

Usually loader mounted attachments that require a hydraulic connection have a male and a female connector to keep them from getting switched. When the attachment is not in use you can hook the hoses together to keep the ends from getting dirty.

You should have a male and a female for the third function on the the tractor.

only if his came set up that way. mine did not it came with two females in a nice bracket made to hold two femals. one male and one female would not look as nice and the male end would be flopping around

yes there is a reason to do it as such there are also reason to do it other ways. i used spray paint to mark which end goes where. never had an issue

Usually on a Kioti both rear remotes are female with plugs to seal them, and same for any loader mounted QDs too. Attachments for the loader have two male with caps and one is marked with a cable/zip tie. Never had a problem with them this way. And when a detented rear remote id not in use we use a loop with two male QDs to keep from burning the hydro pump in case of accidental engaging of the detented remote.

Rear remotes on the tractor are usually both female.

I thought most people ran 1 male and 1 female for their loader attachments:confused3:

if i had as nice a set up as that i would but mine uses a metal bracket that clamps on the fitting itself and the male fitting would have slop/not fit.

and i've never seen male fittings on the back of a tractor

wildkat makes some decent stuff. no sure i agree on the solid plate though. it would be nice to see but brush or in your case roots coming through the opening could be a hazard. as for mounting the quick connect couplers any reason you didn't do it on one of the loader arms itself?

The visibility with an open plate versus the brush protection of a solid plate is certainly something to think about. I think a couple of openings with some wire mesh welded across them might be a good compromise.

My dealer did the mounting of the QCs. I wanted them mounted on the crossbar, but in retrospect I wish I had told them to mount them on top instead of on the bottom.

The fittings on the back of my tractor are female:

i think it would be especially if it was a wider mesh

well there you go

mine too.

NO, they're not. FEmale, both rear and front. That is what is usual.:confused3:

Hey PP, Get your dealer to install the high flow kit for the use of your detented rear remote so the return line goes into where the red vent is installed now in the fill port for the hydro fluid. It consists of a FEmale fitting QD and a new vent installed on the left side of where the remote stack is now. Its easy to install and if you have or get a backhoe it allows for better fluid flow and cooler fluid. Then also have him make you a loop hyd hose with two male fittings to use to prevent deadheading the hydro pump in case the detented lever gets put into A or B without you knowing with nothing attached, like a hoe or whatever.
