Look at Artisan's signature picture. You'd better not mess with him!
well, we all knew it was a design flaw from the first picture.
The real point that I take from this is; They knew they had 10 bad units out there, and didn't contact those customers! Had they been proactive, they could have just done a mail swap of the cylinders or sent some cylinder stops. Instead they hoped they wouldn't have to deal with those people at all. Now, if I was one of the 10, they'd also be sending a new grapple upper (call it the idiot tax). Ignoring problems doesn't make them go away, and I wouldn't want to deal with a company that thinks it does.
The point is, if there is a problem it HAS to be addressed IMEDIATLY,
or the client will tell the world! BELIEVE IT! The internet makes the
world very small.
(ps, this is a forum, just because I disagree w/ a man does not mean we
have to be instant enemies... )
Agree:thumbsup:
If the OP hadn't started this thread, I doubt SSE would have called the OP. With remarks like "do you have a welder" or "just weld some triangle brackets" tells me they don't want to deal with any warranty issues. They're quick to collect your money, but if they have to spend some to fix an issue, I'll tell you how to do it yourself. SSE saw their name in the thread's title and now are trying to save face by FINALLY addressing the issue. Of course they're going to say that they "dropped the ball", the whole world agrees with that. TOO LATE for me though, wouldn't buy anything from them.
Exactly, I bought a video camera battery from a vary large ebay seller who listed it as if it were an OEM 2700mAh battery, but the battery I got was a 2100mAh aftermarket one. I complained about it and left neutral feedback, but they got eBay to remove the feedback as I was unwilling to send it back being as I was going on vacation and needed to use it even though it wasnt what their ad said that I was getting.Have you ever heard of a web based business that didn't have some negative feedback? Who do you buy anything from? I am very skeptical of internet or eBay dealers who have virtually no negative feedback as they often threaten buyers/sellers who post negatively with retaliatory negative feedback.

For me it is not about the complaint or circumstances of the manufacturing issue but rather the final outcome and whether the OP is satisfied. If he is then I'll wipe the slate clean and consider SSE in the future. Better to deal with a company you know will work out a satisfactory solution to a problem than one that simply claims to be perfect or has never been discussed. Better the devil you know.
You're more forgiving than I am.
The reason I wouldn't buy from SSE is becuase their initial response was inadequate. They know they have a design flaw and instead of fixing it themselves, they we tell you how to do it. This is just boggus. As of yesterday, the OP and SSE are "discussing how to fix the problem" because the OP doesn't want to cut into it.
What is there to discuss? SSE sent out a bad product and are aware of it. They should fix it at their cost. They should pay to have it shipped back and get it fixed. There are 10 bad grapples out, I really don't think SSE has contacted the other 9 about the problem. If they really stand behind their product, they should fix/replace all 10 of them. If they're going to take the initiative and contact the other nine, then I may reconsider my stance.
BBB? HA! What a JOKE! Most people think the BBB is a government run
deal, NOPE, could not be farther from the truth, an Attorney owns it.
WHAT A JOKE!
Who in their right mind would pay to belong to an organization that at
the drop of a dime will come AFTER YOU and FORCE YOU to deal w/
a Krazed client by way of an arbitrator whom knows SQUAT about
your trade! LOL
CAVEAT EMPTOR ! :confused2:
File a smalls claims case. THAT will get you some action.
We shall see how it turns out, I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and see what solution they work outThe reason I wouldn't buy from SSE is becuase their initial response was inadequate. What if the OP has a welding shop in the area who could weld the new bracket (or whatever) on, paint it and bill SSE? That would get the OP back online much faster and cheaper than shipping both "arms" back to SSE for them to fix in-house.This is just boggus.
