This is just the ticket for those large, awkward lifts where you don't quite know which bucket hook to use /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

We're in the process of renovating a very large portion of our building at work. Today was the day to lift all the air handlers up to the roof. I took my boys to watch and we saw a couple go before they got bored. Pretty impressive sight and it sure kicked up the leaves /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Rob, Did they say how much weight one could pickup with one of these?

Pretty cool, Rob. Sorry I couldn't make it out. I've been in bed most of the day with a head cold. But I could hear it just fine /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Von, I have no clue on the carrying capacity of a helicopter. This one seemed to be relatively small. I did hear a guy say the other day that they use two different fuels. The "regular" stuff for traveling to the site then they load up with the "good" stuff for the lifting. Apparently, they can get quite a bit more lift out of the better, though more expensive, fuel.

The units they were placing weren't all that large. Probably 10X10 and 4-6 feet high. I'd guess maybe a ton each? Reason for the chopper over a crane is the area of our building. It's quite sprawling and would have taken a large crane for the reach with several re-positions to place all the units.

I wish I could have watched some more, but the kids just weren't as into it as I was.

Mossroad, hope you shake that head cold. I'm finally back to normal after several weeks of it /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Big helicopters sure can do a lot of work. We just sold mega millions of board feet of salvage timber from the Rodeo-Chediski Wildfire at my agency. Most of the volume is on steep slopes and will be helicopter logged. I can't wait to watch the logging show.

Depends on the helicopter... Some can lift great weights... I recognize the copter but I've forgotten the name and model... There's only one true skycrane btw, built by sykorski or however you spell it. Let's see if I can find a pic...
Here we are, this one is set up for helicopter logging.
