Split Tilt Trailers

Do any of you have any experience with the split tilt type of trailers? I found a used one I want to take a look at, but didn't know how easy they are to load. It is 16' tilt with 6' stationary, 14k.

I have a 21' deck over tilt (not a split) and I absolutely love it! I will never monkey with ramps again. I would think that the split deck tilt would be very handy. The added length of the stationary part of the deck moves your axles back which will reduce or eliminate trailer sway.

Another added benefit is that you can load material on the stationary with your tractor (example: pallets of fertilizer), then load your tractor on the trailer.

I have a 20' full deck tilt and like it a lot. A friend of mine has a 22' deck split tilt 14K and he likes that a lot. I think his is 18'tilt plus 4' stationary but not sure, it could be 16 & 6 like the one you're looking at. It looks very well built. They are very easy to load / unload. No ramps to mess with.

i like the full tilts they seem a lot easier to use if you decide you need to hual a pickup or a little longer wheel base equipment and as far as needing to haul a attachment i have found that once you strap it down it don't care to much weather it goes up with the trailer or not

I have an electric, full tilt 24' trailer and it is my favorite trailer to use. The only problem with a split trailer will depend on what you load. I often load other attachments, atv, zero turn mower etc with other stuff. For me the split would often be at the point of interfering with something else on the load. If you plan is just to haul a tractor with FEL and 3 pt attachment, you should get along find.
I don't see an advantage for a split tilt over a full tilt bed. I don't know why most tilt trailers are not built full tilt. Are the split tilt trailers just a dampener cylinder on the tilt mechanism or are they a true mechanical or electric cylinder doing the lift?
