I have a Load Trail 32' tilt deck trailer. Wondering what you guys do if the pump fails and you can't raise it up to unload? IF it fails in the up position I can either use the gravity down feature on the wired remote or disconnect a hydraulic line. More worried about going somewhere and I can't raise it up? Thinking about buying a cheap Vevor double acting hyd pump and some extra hose and carry it with me. Thoughts?

If you tee’d quick coupler(s) it would make it easy to use the manual pump.

How often do these trailer hydraulic systems fail other than a dead battery?

Depends on the load and hydraulic circuit design on whether you need power tilt or not. If load is on wheels and heavy enough it should gravity dump once load is moved overcenter if circuit allows this. Not sure if there is a valve to prevent trailer from tilting due to load induced forces.

Not worried about going down. Worried about going up. As I said I can use the gravity down button on wired remote or I could disconnect a hose.

I don't know how often they fail but I prefer to be ready in case I am hundreds of miles away from home. Some of these hydraulic units have a manual pump, this one a KTI hydraulics units doesn't so that's why I am thinking about getting a cheap unit for backup

I was talking about using the load on the trailer to dump if moved to position that is rear of tilt hinge so weight (gravity) dump the trailer.

I would have to do that anyway to use the manual down over ride. Basically back it to the far rear until it started coming down.
